A1 grade rebar, also known as simple rebar, has a smooth, non-tread surface and is made of low carbon steel. Due to its high flexibility and suitable formability, this rebar is mostly used in the construction of prefabricated concrete parts, metal usages connections and light structures. Despite its lower strength than ribbed rebars, A1 grade rebar still shows good resistance to tensile and compressive forces and plays an important role in increasing the durability and strength of structures.
A2 grade rebar, also known as ribbed rebar, has a spirally ribbed surface that provides greater adhesion to concrete.
